The Department of Agricultural Economics established in 2006 and began its activities with 3 academic members and 25 BS.c. students.The mission of the Agricultural Economics Department is to provide and develop the required skills for students to analyze the market and technical forces affecting the agricultural sector and to make informed business decisions. Graduates of the Agricultural Economics Department have many career opportunities including working as economists for state and national level agencies, professional farm or ranch managers, commodities traders, marketing managers, economic research analysts and agricultural policymakers. The academic members of the Department pursue their research in the fields of food security, production economics, agricultural policy, farm management and accounting, risk management, agricultural development, water economics and economics of natural resources and environment.
